He inhales a little, and he shakes his head, dismissing that. ]

Silver's a friend of mine, one which I met and left behind in another world.

What kind of other world? What happened there?
[The smiles and pleasantries are completely gone, but there's something about the tenseness in her posture, the particularly high shoulders, and Ditty's alarmed expression that say they're both expecting something pretty damn bad.]
[ That response, and that expression, how accepting she is of it... Masaomi's smile remains missing, and he brushes back his hair before leaning against a counter here in the room. He snipes back at her, ]

I never got to know the name of the world at large, but the enclosure we were in was called Luceti. I was there for the better part of five years, and Silver was there for a bit less than that. It was a world at war though, and we got caught up in the middle of everything, protected from it for the most part by the same people that held us captive. That's why a lot of us did out best to try to resolve things on that world, in the end. [ This is such a cliffnotes version. It doesn't feel right, complete ] We were actually right at the precipice of that resolution when Ozuma-san decided I'd be of more use here.
[Five years? Five years and they couldn't find a way out?
...On the other hand, she could have been trapped in that world for five years too, if it weren't for Rick. ...Man, does she really hate anything that ends in "if it weren't for Rick." Gross. Either way, she's not sure if that's better or worse. Maybe it's better not to compare. Either way, there's no way Silver took that very well, but... Five years.

[A world at war, an enclosure- protecting her brother from a couple of bad people is one thing, but how is she supposed to pick a fight against an entire world? Or multiple worlds? And who brought them there? not the captors, because captors don't protect you, or if they do it's a secondary effect while they focus on messing with you, so who? What does she ask next? Does she simply accept that some things are out of her control?
There's too much that's out of her control. She doesn't like it. She doesn't like it one bit. She doesn't like being here, either, as if one trip to another world wasn't enough-]

[ He laughs, still breathing a little heavier and then shakes a hand, ] Okay, so the world itself is a black hole of sorts, something that pulls people and things from across all of time, space, and dimensions. I'm not sure that a planet can have a motivation to do something like that, but we do have some reason to believe that it was malevolent.
He should ask about her Pokémon or perhaps most pressingly about the world that she was in after he world. Instead, he tries to throw her off base a little, humming as he casually motions for her to follow. After all, they were going to go to the pool and pick out a swimsuit ... Oh wait they could do it here, right?
[...She could try to make something up. She could talk about someone from home, as if nothing in that horrible academy ever happened. Technically, it wasn't a date.]
